Hi! We are in New Jersey! We arrived at Newark Academy yesterday at 20h. Our families were waiting for us with many posters and Spanish flags; it was so exciting. We met Cole's family and they bring us to their house. When we arrived they show us the neighborhood and their home in South Orange. Our first impression was awesome! America is very different to Spain. We had dinner in the balcony and there were lights and music; everything was very beautiful. We ate pasta with lemon, , chicken, corn and ice cream. Then we had a shower and bring our American family their gifts. Finally, we slept but not so much because the jet lag; we woke up at 6am! That morning we kept at bed until 8am. Then we go downstairs to have breakfast with the whole family. Cole's dad teach us how to make pancakes and we ate them all together with some syrup, berries milk, banana, etc. In the middle of the morning we went for a walk with Gudge (family's dog). Cole's mum shown us the neighborhood and a South Orange's park. We saw a lake with people driving remote-controlled boats. There were gooses and fishes. That was awesome! Later we went to two supermarkets with Cole, Charlotte (Cole's sister) and their mum and we bought many things for the lunch. Then we get home, we had lunch and after we played two games: "Jenga" and "Uno", we discovered that Noemi is very competitive. At 3pm we took the train to Penn Station with Charlotte and Cole, and the subway to Downtown, finally we get in New York City. We walk for two hours down the streets of NYC, we enter in some shops, in Donkin' Donuts and we went to the Washington Square Park where we saw a lot of artist, singers and painters and many people; in this square there is an arch very beautiful and we took a lot of photos. At 6pm we met Cole's parents and we had dinner in Umami Hamburger Restaurant: we ate the best hamburgers in the whole world! After dinner we went to a show called "Stomp"; it was a mix between dance and music without words. The actors made music with common things like brooms, sinks... It was one of the best things that we have never seen! Then drive to Times Square at night and we saw all the lights and we took pictures; it's so pretty, we really liked that. There were many people in the square, most of them tourist like us. At the end of the day we were very tired, so when we finally get home we fell sleep very soon.
It was a fantastic day a really good way to begin this Exchange!!
Noemi and Lua
On Saturday me and Crystal slept at Sarah's house,so today,me and Elena woke up at 10:30. We got dressed and we went with Sarah's family for have breakfast to the diner Ristz. Crystal had two eggs,potatoes,pork and an english muffin,Sarah and Elena had two pancakes with strawberries and cream and I had two bagels with strawberry jam. We all drank pineapple juice.
Then,Sarah's mum drove us to a target,that is a very big shop where you can buy a lot of different things. Elena bought some earrings and Sarah and Crystal bought two stuffed animals.
After that Sarah's mum took us to Matt's house. In Matt's house were Lua,Noemi,German,Pablo,Adrian and Tomas and their americans too, we swam in the pool, played volleyball,jumped in the trampoline...We also were in the jacuzzi.
Later, Ingrid, Matt's mum,did a barbecue for us. She cooked hot dogs, hamburguers and chicken for lunch and brownie,cookies and ice cream for dessert. Then,we continued talking and swimming until 4:50 pm
At 5:00pm Crystal's mum drove us home,we weren't so hungry so we just ate some grapes and kiwi. After that, we had a shower and we got dressed to go to Noah's house because he was having a party. We went and we spent time with friends because almost all the spanish and americans were there. We had a good time.
At 10pm Crystal's mum took us and drove us home. We were really hungry so she made some nuggets for me and some mexican chicken rolls for she When we finish, we were so tired and we went to sleep. It was an amazing day,I had so much fun!
CARLA
El sabado yo y Crystal dormimos en casa de Sarah,así que Elena y yo nos levantamos a las 10:30.Nos vestimos y fuimos con la familia de Sarah a desayunar al diner Ristz. Crystal tomo dos huevos,patatas,cerdo y un muffin inglés, Sarah y Elena tomaron dos tortitas con fresas y nata y yo tome dos bagels con mermelada de fresa. Todas bebimos zumo de piña.
Luego,la madre de Sarah nos llevo a un Target, que es una tienda muy grande donde puedes comprar muchas cosas diferentes. Elena se compró unos pendientes y Sarah y Crystal dos animales de peluche. Después, la madre de Sarah nos llevo a casa de Matt. Allí también estaban Lúa, Noemí, Germán, Pablo, Adrián y Tomas con sus americanos. Nos bañamos en la piscina,jugamos al voleibol,saltamos en la cama elástica...
También estuvimos en el jacuzzi.
Más tarde, Ingrid, la madre de Matt hizo una barbacoa para nosotros. Ella nos dió perritos calientes,hamburguesas y pollo para comer y brownies, galletas y helado de postre. Después seguimos hablando y nadando hasta las 4:50pm
A las 5:00pm, la madre de Crystal nos llevo a casa.Nosotras no teníamos mucha hambre,así que solo comimos uvas y kiwi. Cuando terminamos,nos duchamos y nos vestimos para ir a casa de Noah por que el hacía una fiesta. Estuvimos allí y pasamos el rato con nuestros amigos,ya que casi todos los españoles y americanos estaban allí.
A las 10pm la madre de Crystal (Vicky) nos recogió y nos llevó a casa. Teníamos mucha hambre asi que hizo unos nuggets de pollo para mi y unos rollitos de pollo mejicanos para Crystal. Cuando terminamos,estábamos muy cansadas y nos fuimos a dormir. Fue un día genial,lo pasé muy bien!
CARLA
El pasado lunes nos levantamos y tome el desayuno con mi familia. Desayune bagles con mantequilla y un vaso de leche. Me prepare y nos fuimos a su piscina. Al cabo de un rato empezaron a llegar sus amigos. Comimos pizza y fruta, luego nos bañamos en su piscina y finalmente cenamos hamburguesas, perritos calientes y tortilla española. La madre de Mallory (americana de Carlota) hizo unas galletas que estaban muy ricas.
ALBA IGLESIAS
Last Monday we woke up and I had breakfast with my family. I had bagles with butter and a glass of milk with chocolate. I took a shower and I got dressed, then we went to her pool. Later her friends started arrive. We ate pizza and fruit, then we swam in her pool and finally for dinner We has hamburgers, Spanish omelet and hot dogs. Mallory's mother
( Carlota's American) made cookies, those were so good.
